Banquet Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager

Old Mill Brewpub & Grill is looking for a Banquet Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team.


We have not held banquet events since the pandemic. We are in the process of starting up again, and the banquet chef will be integral to our success as we begin to host events again, hopefully starting this summer.

Because we are not currently hosting events, you would be hired on to work in the restaurant in a supervisory role, while cooking on the line, expediting, and prepping, as well as menu planning, inventory, and other jobs as necessary. After we begin serving banquets again, your time would be split between events and regular work in the restaurant. We would expect that you could fill in for our Kitchen Manager when they are absent or on vacation. Nights and weekends are mandatory.


Responsibilities:

-Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
-Coordinate food and kitchenware orders with the Kitchen Manager
-Check freshness and quality of ingredients
-Assist in the development of menu items
-Standardize recipes and plate presentations
-Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests

Qualifications:

-Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields
-Knowledge of cost, labor, and inventory systems 
-Passion for food and cooking techniques
-Strong leadership qualities
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


We offer competitive pay, and for fulltime BOH employees (>30hrs/wk) we offer paid vacation after one year.
